New season
Today the new season starts and I’m like a kid on Christmas Eve. Finally, it’s on again, and I am as ready as I can be. In my head, there is no other way than three points for us in this match. We seem stronger than ever and our form is good. But we have to play the game first, then we’ll find out where we are. First game of the season and it doesn’t look good, where is the lancashire spirit, the only time we see rovers battle it out is when they’re facing relegation. I hope for the clubs sake relegation does not happen, how long would it take coming back from that? To be honest i cant see the good players staying if that happens. I just need to be proved wrong now!!!
what an afternoon. I hope we get Ryan or Gael back soon. I know Chris must be leaving so we really need the other 2 back soon. Hanley was out of his depth unfortunately today. Chin up Morten x
now i am honestly worried!! losing the first game of the season when we could have won it is bad.. we have to, got to win against villa now.. and i know that it is going to be a very difficult match but we have to win!! that’s all i can say.. come on Rovers.. we are much better than this

we’re poor in defence. But i believe u guys can do better against Villa. Ruben Rochina & Formica are fantastic. And u Morten, u’re the best…..
For the first 20 minute we played decent football and when we got the goal I thought we were going to go on and win but once we got the goal we just fell apart the defence were letting wolves put balls in the box and that led to the goal. If samba was fit then he could of possibly stopped fletcher from heading it home. Then there was the penalty Robinson made the save but we didn’t get the ball away. A few positives were that you started morten, kean sees sense also we got to see what fantastic players Rochina and Formica and from what i saw from goodwillie was quite good hopefully he will bring in the goals. you need a fresh start somwher else mate, youve stagnated at rovers and contributed nothing today even your set pieces are terrible, thanks for the memories your a lovely lad im sure but please step aside now.

look david i dont agree morten played half decent he made some good defensive headers and the other three you mentioned all work extremely hard
WTF ddavid? Before 8 minutes had gone Peds had two world class deliveries. The first with his right foot that Junior almost scored on and the second with the first corner kick. He’s never caught on the wrong side and work his ass of for the team with his never ending runs. He’s the player that puts in the most yards in every game! Kean is the one to blame for his lack of manager skills, but he just does what he can, in the end it’s the owners who put him there who we shouls blame. Sparky is a free agent now, get him back and let the glory coem back to Ewood Park
I didnt see the match as i live in NZ and it wasnt televised but its not a good start. i dont rate hanley at all, not saying he wont make it but hes not ready now, reminds me of ollson under ince when him and simpson were at full back, both totaly crap. but ollson has come of age and far better on the LW and hopefully hanley will to. if samba leaves though we are screwed, somethins not right at the club and for me it all points to an inept manager, hes no Jackie Moon, hes not a motivator or a tactician. you guys better buck your ideas up morts or the only support at ewood will be from the bench, and even thats as weak as its ever been. also after watching the villa game in HK i dont hold much hope for next weekend. but ill still be here suffering come may…
Also ddavid who was the person that did alot of hard work to get our goal. That person was roberts now i know he isnt a out and out goalscorer but he works damn hard and salgado and dunn are superb players there gonna be important this season in our survival
It take it that ddavid wasn’t at the game from his comments. The only quality balls delivered into the area came from Morten and its not his fault we don’t have strikers capable of converting the chances he creates. Well done MGP I thought you worked hard and had a decent game on Saturday.

Perhaps you didn’t notice but our squad was thread bare on Saturday afternoon. And Roberts put in one of the best efforts on the pitch. His ball control, while holding off a defender might I add, prior to feeding Formica was superb.
The only thing Salgado (please take note of the spelling) could be faulted on was a mistimed tackle, he’s also not going to be out-heading a 6ft plus player, but at least he tried. As he does every match. And it’s not exactly going to be easy when you’re missing 3 of your first team regulars off your defence alone.
And Morten had a decent game. Put in some good passes and displayed the usual reliable accuracy off of dead ball situations as well.
Granted, the second half could have been much better, but that only highlights our lack of squad depth at the moment. And we all know that Venky’s have just two weeks to truly prove themselves in this area.

The fact that Kean looks set to stay and the stupid transfers being made and lack of transfers is making this season set for a bad one and possible relegation. WHY ARE WE BUYING YOUNG/UNPROVEN PLAYERS THIS SEASON? we have sold jones for good money now lets get some players, even players with just premiership experience we need to have a good season before anyone good will want to come to us… if Goodwillie has a good season he will probably look to move on to a better club
then we are stuck in same position. Sunderland have bought players like Wes Brown and O’Shea these are players which are good and experienced and i cant believe we didnt attempt to sign them
Thats a bit harsh david, they all work hard, and like some of the comments above he works his arse off for that club, when everyone turns on him and says how carp he has played do you see or hear morten moan about it no, he smiles and talks to the fans and signs whatever they weant him to sign. If you want to critise and player/club look elsewhere cause there are plenty to go at!!!
i reli think people need to be more positive its the first game of the season everyone should be smiling , fresh start and full season to try our very best! everyone should be supportive
u can tell the players try there very best for the club and we may not always get the 3points but u can tell the support of the fans means alot!!! top ten finish this season wud be good

you could put out a team of sunday league players and im sure they work hard but hard work alone isnt enough at this level you have to perform every week its results that matter nowt else.
well, i bet they are trying to you know, but things are not so simple.. Ped is one of the most hard-working players for your information.. Bad things happen but you have to work it out.. No point fighting over it!!

i like morten as a man and a player, hes still in his 20s and still has a lot to offer, i just think it would be better for HIM as a footballer to move to pastures new, a fresh start.
i think that a solid defense it what we build from and it what allowed to stay up with no real goalscorer, we had a makeshift defense with grant hanley and n’zonzi which a side like wolves was set up exploit, hopefully samba nelsen and or givet will be fit for aston villa, the only thing really worrying about this season is the lack of depth in the squad and the lack of news to suggest that were bringing anyone in
