HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Firstly a nice surprise from the biggest newspaper in Norway, VG. I have been given a spot on central midfield on the best national team based on players from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and Finland. It’s a great honour, and it’s really good that I have with me my two good friends from Norway Brede Hangeland and John Arne Riise. This is the team:

Tomorrow we play away against Sunderland, and we have setteled us at the hotel. Of course I wish I’d celebrated New Year’s Eve with my family and my friends, but I’m very happy with my team so it’s not so bad to celebrate with them either. But I reckon we celebrate a little quieter than most others. And it that matter I have a small request to everybody who launches fireworks today: Please do not use fireworks while drunk, it’s so boring that anyone should lose an eye or be damaged in any way just because we are a bit careless. I don’t want to be a party pooper or moralize in any way, it’s just a small request for the evening, I like most people, and i like them in good health :)

Otherwise, I got some treatment today, the mood is on top of both me and the rest of the team and we are ready for tomorrow’s game. Sunderland is not a place you can go to pick up points when you want, it’s a good team with many good players. Especially Darren Bent is a man to watch out for, he can score goals from everywhere, but I have great confident in our defenders so I’m not afraid. Have a nice New Years Eve everybody
