Happy Rovers
Today, our new manager Steve Kean gave the players some reassuring information. Kean has been in India and met the new owners, and he has been told that no player is for sale and that there will come some new players in January and in June. Our goal for this season is a top ten position, and now we will do everything we can to make that happen. And therefore it is important that the whole club going in the same direction, that means everybody with their heart in Blackburn have to work together. It goes for everyone from stadium crew, staff, players and supporters. Blackburn Rovers are a warm family club in the Premier League where the core values means something, and it shall remain like that in the future too.
I have had some questions and concerns that I am unhappy and want leave the club. But let’s just remove any doubts right now. I play at Blackburn Rovers and therfore have absolutely no reason to be unhappy. If I wanted to leave the club I had done it in the summer, instead I signed a new contract and is very happy to be where I am. I’ve been here six and a half years, and has almost four years left on my current contract and that contract I fully respect. Morten Gamst Pedersen is a happy Rover!

It has been incredibly difficult for everyone involved but starting to feel positive again now we know where we’re at.

Good news, Morten! I hope all the players have their heart in Blackburn and fully support the new manager. If they don’t I hope you will encourage them to! The squad can reach 10th but it will be more difficult if any players leave. Best wishes for Christmas and have a fantastic Boxing Day!

Great news Morten - I just wish all your team mates could show the same commitment and loyalty to the Club as you have. In my opinion Chris Samba should have the captaincy taken away from him and, if the press comments are true, you would be the ideal player to take on the role of captain.

For en lettelse å høre at det tydeligvis ikke er så totalt kaos, forvirring og misnøye som man skulle tro. Har vært to utrolig vanskelige uker dette for en trofast fan og håper det lysner litt nå mot romjula. Ble fryktelig skuffet og lamslått når Sam fikk sparken sånn uten videre, og man skulle jo tro at disse inderne ikke har peil på fotball i det hele tatt, men de vil jo i det minste det beste for klubben og vi får bare håpe at med dem som eiere vil vi stige jevnt oppover tabellen på sikt. Gleder meg også å høre at du er fully commited til klubben, man ser så lite av slik åpen lojalitet i fotballen nå til dags, så det er en sann fryd å lese at du sier det så åpent! Vi digger deg, fortsett med ditt gode spill og spre entusiasmen videre til dine lagkamerater! Ha en riktig god jul Morten og lykke til med den viktige romjuls-poengsankingen!

It’s good to have some positive news today, it’s been a hellish 2 weeks for both fans and players (i suppose). I am looking forward to your testimonial Morton so stay for at least another 4 years (I’d prefer you to stay for the rest of your career but I’ll settle for a testimonial).

MGP you are a true professional. In these days of smoking mirrors regarding comments which become lost in translation, this blog is a godsend! You are so straight with the fans, it’s untrue!
I, amongst many others, have witnessed the rebirth of MGP in a more central role. Your anticipation, pressing and understanding of your new role is phenomenal and you have by far been player of the season so far.
Regarding Big Sam, he did a great job for us but I also feel that utilising more of the midfield will really benefit yourself and the attacking members of the squad. I, and I speak on behalf of a number of people, am excited by what the future holds and with your loyalty, dedication and commitment to the cause, I see a future captain of our beloved club.
Best of luck sunday, in the meantime have a fantastic Christmas!
P.S. I live in Blackburn but i’m going on a trip to Tromso in February - anything I should know?

Hi Morten. Firstly Happy Christmas and hopefully a great new year for all connected with BRFC.
Although your above comments are reasuring there is still great fear about the way the club is now heading under the new ownership. The sacking of Big Sam was a great shock for all fans and players alike I’m sure, especially as it still remains a totaly crazy descision due to the fact that we now have a total unknown with no proven track record in football management. Under Sam the ship was settled and a top 10 finish was surely on the cards… now what… who knows??
It seems the new owners have no idea about English top flight football, or football as a whole for that matter! If the think they can come in and spend £5m per transfer window and turn this club into a top 4 contender is crazy! Teams like Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Man City etc etc must be pissing themselfs with fear at the thought of big money signings such as Charlie Adam, Kenny Miller etc. At least Sam was looking at proven EPL players suck as Santa Cruz, Robbie Keane and David Bentley. It will be interesting to see the caliber of player we will be able to attract in January and how far this quoted 5m will stretch. If we get more than 2 half decent players in I will be amazed.
On the subject of Chris Samba - his recent ‘quoted’ comments in the press could not of come at a worse time. This guy was signed from the german 2nd division as a nobody and is now playing in one,m if not the best leagues in the world with a great club… not to mention on a fantastic wage that the ‘nornmal fan in the stand’ can only dream of. He was also appointed CLUB CAPTAIN!! Does this not mean he is meant to be a role model at lead by example? DISGRACE is the only word I can think of to some this fella up. If he wants to go on to better things then please close the door on the way out. I would right a list of players such as him self who thought the grass was green on the other side, but I have some last minute xmas shopping to attend to and time is at a premium.
A reply to my above comments who be great, but I apprciate with the half a days training, followed by shopping around Manchesters boutiques and fake tanning sessions mush eat up the majority of your time.
Season ticket holder of 11 years and will be making the trip to WBA on Tuesday. 6 points would go somewhere to easing the fears of the die hard fans.

jeg er 25 år, så jeg synes d er små kleint å si d; men for en mann du er Pedersen! Blackburn har vært klubben “min” siden jeg var 7-8 år, og jeg er generelt jævlig bekymra over tilstanden i klubben for tia, men nervene roer seg til hver gang jeg leser bloggen din! Resten av gjengen trenger ikke å være mer enn halvparten av go`kar som du er, så kommer dette til å gå i gleden!

I actually understood ur misgivings, esp with the takeover, but pal, no club who has u in her right mind will let u go. i use to pray Arsene will lure u to arsenal, but alas, it didnt happen, and here I am an arsenal fan but also a passionate fan of urs. Legend… Great news!!! I dont blame for Samba for his comments because he said ‘IF the new owners carry on’. But I think that we know whats going on and
Steve Kean has done the right thing by meeting with them and has acted as the middle man so that know at the very least we know what is going on! 5m is not a lot but to keep hold of our best players and still add is something that hasnt happened in a long time. I do hope if Samba goes which I think we could get anything from 8-13 million for, I hope those funds go straight back into investing in the team again. Cheers Morten for cheering me up and have a good christmas. You should be captain if Samba goes, although I sense competition from Robbo, Nelson and Salgado (maybe Diouf). In reply to another post, my understanding is that Nelson is club captain and Samba is captain on the pitch.

Poor performance today Morten, albeit not from yourself as you give 100% every game. It would appear that Steve Kean doesn’t have much idea about moving the team forward. He looked like a stuffed dummy on the touchline today - not really what a manager should be like.
Hope the results improve for all our sakes.
