Aftermath
THIS is not allowed! When we are one up like today, the only way is to kill the game and win it. Thats why I’m sitting here with mixed emotions, or to say the least: I’m really pissed ofF! Firstly we didn’t win the match, second we lost three important players to injury today. It’s not an excuse, because we as a team is not supposed to be dependent of specific players, but the ones we lost was really costly. And I’m bitter that one of my freekikcs didn’t go in. Mildly said: not our day. And to our supporters I would like say sorry that we didn’t secure three points.

its okay Morten.I still have faith in you guys! U know what, I failed my exams last semester and i was really sad and promised myself to do well in the future. This semester, i really struggled in my studies, i didn’t do well in all my assessments and i’m pretty sure i was going to fail again but i keep on going and have faith..I work my ass off and guess what? I got my results yesterday and i passed with flying colours! If i can do that, you can too
Just pray to god, keep on going and never give up…Have a good day!
Fair play Morten, your blogs brilliant actually shows us fans how much you players do care, im sure we’ll start getting the results we deserve soon, especially during a tough trasition period for the club!
that’s okay.. Thank you for your hard work today. We’re proud of you Gamsten, as always!
Morten you should have been man of the match today! You ran your heart out and was the best player on the pitch! The injuries to jones, roberts and samba were unlucky and the outcome may have been different if they had stayed on the pitch! Roll on Stoke!!!
We wanted to really get behind you today. It was hard, people didnt come so lots of gaps and everybody was tense. Also so very cold. Really disappointed about Sam leaving. Hope you and the other senior players can take hold of the situation and influence preparations for the next game as we have faith that you know what you need to do.
Byttene ødela en god del da det så ut som dunn og emerton gikk fryktelig tom siste 20min. Skulle hatt et par friske inn på midten med olsson og hoilett. Jeg skulle helst sett at olsson startet som venstreback.
Thank you Morton, reading this made me happy as this is exactly how I felt and it’s good to know that at least one person in the team feels the same. I was about ready to throw away my season ticket today but seeing this post has convinced me that supporting this team and being as loud in the stands as I can be is worth these painful days. Have a great Xmas!
We really need a goal scorer like your friend Husklepp or Santa Cruz or were going nowhere. No disrespect to Roberts & Benjani but their not going to get 20 goals in a season hopefully we should pick up 3 points on boxing day have a great xmas Morten !

blame venky’s
you played really good today, I saw the whole match, Rovers really deserved to win but football it’s so unfair sometimes

You’re playing brilliant this season! Wish you’d put more than one free kick in the net! I’m impressed with your strength this season, you’re going in (and winning) many 50-50 balls which I like. You seem to have much more of a positive impact this season, keep up the good work!

To be fair, I think a draw was a fair result. And you were lucky not to see red after elbowing Scotty Parker! Good luck for rest of season and when you get a new manager.
I still didn’t see what was wrong with Dunnys goal. I too felt like I had a crap day.

When Roberts was injured Kalinic should have came on. Benjani was the worst player in the field and cost us with his inability to win/hold on to the ball and his major inability to actually move. Although the defending for their goal was awful.
Kean was forced into making 3 substitutions. I agree Niko should have come on however with big Chris and Jones going off in quick succession, Kean couldn’t make any attacking changes later in the game.
Unlucky with the freekick in the closing mins. From where I was sat thought it was going in.
Not a great performance today from the team, but I thought you were our best player.

One thing though…YOU WERE WEARING GLOVES!!! You must have got some stick for that from the other players…next up a snood?!
Hey, you are by far the player of the seasson for Rovers this season and although Nelson was solid as ever, you was by far the best player on the pitch and I am so sorry you have to deal with the booos after such a good performance. I think the booos are aimed at the clueless chickens who have taken over us and I could clearly see that it had unsettled most of the players and at times we looked short of ideas going forward (think Ollson would have made a difference). You deserve better than whats happening at the moment, but I am reassured that your heart lies with Blackburn Rovers and keep up the loyalty and Im sure in a couple of seasons you will be held in the same breath as Tugay!!! Pederson you are a legend. P.S - give dunny a kick up the backside as we need him to be on form, he looked a shadow of himself yesterday and sad to see as he is a true Rover just like you!!! Have a good Christmas and keep up the hard work!!!
@Justin, yeah I know about the injuries leaving keano with no choice to make tactical subs however considering how terrible Benjani is it should have been a no-brainer to put Niko on.
thanks again morten for putting in an outstanding performance, I too thought your free kcik was going in. It was a shame a lot of fnas never came down to Ewood it affected the atmosphere. I agree with Stuart the boos were not aimed at the team. Keep up the good work morten you are fantastic at the moment. Do you know why Dunny’s goal got disallowed?? Have a great Christmas and see you on boxing day. x
Hi… I’m a rover’s supporter but i’ll be frank here but why don’t you move to a bigger club!!! seriously!! your through passing is wonderful and your set peices are prefecto!! plus you defend very well too!!! you need to win the champions league!!! …maybe with blackburn next season!!!
I nearly put it myself, based on your form this season you should defo be playing for a top 6 side and hope if these chickens want us to be a top 5 side they will have to times our 5m transfer budget by 10!!! I really hope you do stay with us Pederson because as a number of players have found out since leaving Rovers, the grass isnt always greener - ask bentley, roque, warnock, duff, neil, bellamy (to some extent)!!! Having said that, If these muppets continue with the ridiculous comments and expectations whilst giving us 5m a season I wouldnt blame you for leaving!!! No decent manager wants to come to us because we are seen as the laughing stock of football, I just hope Steve Kean is a gem out of the bag and that these owners have a quick reality check!!! P.S - im sure most of us will agree that we are sorry for the minority of idiots who decide to booo our team and occassionaly booo individuals - these arent proper fans - just people who pay to watch cheap football!!! We are behind you Morten and the rest of the lads!! Keep your head up and if these chickens start trying to ruin our club they will be out in no time!!!
I agree, you should have been the Man of the Match! Shame about the free kick, but keep up the good work.
You are a Blackburn legend everything you do for the club and the town.
A good effort, yesterday, Morten. You show a lot of heart and I definitely appreciate what you give back to the fans.
It was a discouraging day; the injuries were a setback and losing Jones for the rest of the season is a kick in the teeth. It was also a game we should have won. Shame about Dunny’s goal being disallowed.
It looked like Keane had the squad playing higher up the pitch than usual and I hope the lads can get into a flow over the coming weeks as he establishes his own methods.
@Stuart, the boos were aimed at some of the team’s complete lack of effort. Eg Benjani, and also at the fact that the fans wanted 3 points but in the last 10 we were hardly gunning it. These were fans who pay good money to watch a group of players earning thousands a week and when some players don’t put in the effort they get booed. These same fans probably (like myself) follow the team to many away games where the tickets aren’t so cheap. I agree there are some fans who are clueless but to suggest the 15000+ who booed at the end of the game were just there to watch cheap football is a ridiculous suggestion.
Back to Morten, I did think you played outstanding and I wish some of our players would mirror your determination and would care about the club and fans. I have to say watching Benjani play and know that he will get thousands of pounds for his complete lack of effort made me a little bit sick.
Why why Why is Jones in midfield??? i would have had you and dunny in center and olsson out wide. And now Jones is injured
Unlucky with the freekick, here’s hoping you get one (or two) against west brom

Thanks for saying Sorry, Morten. There were lots of mistakes today, giving the ball away too much. Of the midfielders I think you were best, but Dunn had a shocker, and Emerton, and both had plenty of chances to pass the ball through to the strikers but kept losing the ball or making bad passes. Hence West Ham’s midfield were allowed into the game. They gained confidence while we lost it. 442 can work, but the players must be more alert and up for it! West Ham won everything in the air. 442 on the ground could have won it for us. As well as your last two free kicks
but you were only inches away. Better luck next time.
It aint all your fault mainly the managers fault which then leads back to the awful owners. Why was he sacked when they knew that there was NO one good enough to take over the role of manger untill they find a perminante manger. VENKEYS OUT lol how do u feel about the new so called owners.
^Whatever Morten feels about the takeover situation he will definitely not say anything negative as that would just be stupid. So far he’s been positive and taken the diplomatic stance and that’s all he can do in his position…
@Will, I take it you didn’t go to the game as Jonesy came on at centre half in place of Chris Samba who was injured.
@Luca, indeed the players can’t say a thing as it would be daft. I spoke to Dunny on Saturday night in Whalley and he wasn’t giving much away, just said how he played bad.
Morten make sure you keep the lads focused in training and give anyone who isn’t pulling their weight a kick in the arse!
I will forgive this result as long as we take all 3 points from Stoke!!
