Ryan to Tottenham
Ryan Nelsen went to Tottenham and it came as a shock to me, Ryan has been at the club almost as long asI have and I still remember the first training he had with us. We played on the same team and he did a really good impression, and on his debut came away against Portsmouth in the same game that I scored my first goal in the Premier League. Ryan is a really good friend and I will miss him both as a person and player. Had it been up to me Ryan would have stayed here with us, but it’s not and all I can do isto wish him the best of luck at Tottenham. I took this picture at the reserve game today and shows Ryan score.
Tomorrow it’s all set for a new game againt Newcastle, and it is the fourth game against them this season. We played well against them when we knocked them out of the Cup at Ewood Park. I hope we can play yet another a good game, and beat them in the league as well.

Haven’t been this cut up about a Rovers player leaving in quite a while. We’ve lost 2 legends in the last year in Ryan and Brett. Glad we’ve still got you and Dunny mate! Good luck tomorrow, you were awesome against Fulham Morten so sure you’ll do the business. COYB!
Gutted
best of luck Ryan xx
Ryan was a wonderful ambassador for rovers, amazing guy who always had time for fans and gave everything for the club. I’m so sad that he won’t be here. His commanding presence has been sadly missed this season. Please pass on to him how much he shall be missed by rovers fans :’( x
Hi Morten!
Nelson did not give to play.It is a pity that Ryan has not proved himself this season.(The situation is similar to Roberts)
Morten,Good luck in today’s game!!!I I will wait on you a good game!))
GL Morten!!!
Cant believe the club has let Ryan go…especially if he was returning to fitness. Was a great player for Rovers, always gave his all and was a reliable defender. Mr. Consistent of the team for years
Good luck tonight..keep the last few performances going and 3 points would be brilliant
The way the club’s owners have disposed of Ryan is little short of despicable. If you’re in touch with him, Morten, please let him know how much we the fans appreciated him. He opened a few doors for me when I was in NZ last summer; Kiwis saw the Rovers’ badge on my sweater and immediately wanted to talk about him.
Have a stormer tonight; let’s beat thosse barcodes!
Hi Morten, Victor from Singapore here. It’s such a shame about how Ryan has been treated after so many years of stellar service. While he has been injured this season, he should not have been shunted out like this. I’m glad he’s gone to Spurs, a player like Ryan deserves a chance at the title run-in. In any case, everything about our owners have been absolutely appalling. In such dark times, I hope that you can rally the team and hopefully yourself, the team, the fans and the club can outlive the owners.
Such a shame that Ryan has left, top player & true pro!! Good luck to you & the boys tonight!
Xx.
I’m gutted with this news - Ryan Nelsen and Brett Emerton are my two favourite players and now they’ve both left the club.
Like a few messages above, could you pass on our messages of how much he meant to us - i even bought a New Zealand top with his name on the back for the World Cup!
It’s a shame I never got to meet the guy as he’s my favourite player, but now he’s in London I might have to pop up to North West London and see if I can spot him!
I can’t believe that this brilliant servant to the club has been pushed out so unceremoniously. It would have been common courtesy to give him and us a chance to say goodbye.
If you are still in contact with him please give him my thanks for the pleasure he has given me over the years.
Blackburn har ligaens dårligste forsvar.Fart bakover er og har vært akilleshælen.Likevel er det på midtbanen og fremover på banen treneren kjøper spilllere..Samba ønsker seg bort også.
Forvtilet jeg Gamsten.Kommer du forresten tilbake for spille for Tromsø.Med deg kan vi spille champions league
Vennlig hilsen
Blackburn Rovers have had some fine players in the last decade and Ryan Nelsen was one of them. I was lucky enough to meet him when Rovers came to Australia. His manager was a really nice guy too, I even scored a signed copy of his book. Rovers legend!
So sad, but what to say, life must go on…Thank you Ryan…..
Met Ryan with the team at Faro airport a couple of years ago after watching Rovers in a pre-season tournament. He was an absolute gentleman and clearly had a lot of time for the fans. Add to that his proffessionalism and his comanding presence on the pitch and he will be sorely missed - he’s a Rovers legend and one of my favourite ever players. Absolutely gutted that we didn’t get the chance to say goodbye the way we did with Emerton. Wish him all the best at Spurs.
I agree with Alan. He deserved a proper send off after all his good service over the years. Best of luck to him and hopefully he knows how the fans appreciated his time here
good luck Ryan!! you will be missed!!
pity we did not get 3 points saturday!!!
Morten dont know how you can keep your mouth shut when you work for such a indept clueless manager! We all feel for you having to work under such numpties
